How to Set Up a QR Menu for Your Restaurant in 10 Minutes
A step-by-step walkthrough: from sign-up to a live QR code on every table — in under ten minutes, with no design or tech skills required.

What you will need before you start
Three things, none of them complicated:
- Your current menu, in any format — PDF, photo of a printed copy, Word document, or even a list typed in WhatsApp.
- A phone or laptop with a browser.
- A printer or stationery shop nearby to print the QR card once you are done.

Step 1: Sign up (30 seconds)

Step 2: Upload your existing menu (2 minutes)

Step 3: Tag dietary preferences (3 minutes)
For Indian restaurants this is the single highest-leverage step. Walk through your items and tag each one with the appropriate filter:
- 🌿 Vegetarian — no meat, fish, or eggs
- 🍗 Non-Vegetarian — contains meat, chicken, fish, or eggs
- 🕉️ Jain — no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables, no honey
- 🌾 Gluten-Free — no wheat, barley, rye, oats
- 🚫 Sugar-Free — no added sugar (great for diabetic guests)
You can tag multiple labels per item. Jain Dal Makhani gets both Vegetarian and Jain. Sugar-Free Kheer gets Vegetarian and Sugar-Free.

Step 4: Add a few photos (optional, 2 minutes)
You do not need photos for every item to launch — and in fact, restaurants with selective photos (3–5 hero dishes) often outperform restaurants with photos on everything. Upload the photos of your signature dishes, and leave the rest text-only. The clean look performs better than a cluttered photo gallery.
Step 5: Set your restaurant branding (1 minute)
Add your restaurant name, a one-line tagline, your logo (or a placeholder if you do not have one), and pick a colour theme. Done.
Step 6: Generate and print your QR code (2 minutes)

- Within five seconds of seating, point at the QR and say "You can scan here for our menu — there are filters for veg, Jain, and gluten-free."
- Carry one paper backup menu for guests over 70 or anyone who asks.

Step 8: Make your first live update (30 seconds)
Before you close the dashboard for the day, make at least one live update so you internalise how fast it is. Mark one item as sold out. Refresh the menu on your phone. Watch the item disappear in real time.
This is the moment most restaurant owners stop using printed menus forever.
Day-2 onwards
Once your QR menu is live, your daily routine changes in three small ways:
